New Daiwa reels
New Daiwa reels
All I can say is WOW! These reels look like they will be exactly what Daiwa needs to sway some hardcore Shimano guys their way. From what I can tell, they have covered all the bases as far as updates, improvements, facelifts, etc. I can't wait to see the prices!

Re: New Daiwa line
The new advantage cast and spin reels look like definite winners.

Re: New Daiwa reels
Good lineup. Glad that Daiwa is always introducing the lefties with the righties now. (Now if rod companies also start making a good selection of light power and multi-piece rods... )
Kinda disappointed in a way though No 1000-size TD-A spinner. And no presso or pixy? Com'on Daiwa. Make one of my dreams come true. Am I asking too much?

Re: New Daiwa reels
I'd like to try the new Supertuned TDA...sounded like some nice improvements/upgrades were made to an already nice reel. The price point will be the deciding factor though.

Re: New Daiwa reels
seriously..?? that's a very attractive price for an all aluminum frame, swept handle, 11 bearings, etc..sdfd504 wrote:The TD Advantage supertuned reel will be around $150.
Re: New Daiwa reels
This season more than any other Daiwa seems to have spent a lot of time in the mid range. A lot of these new reels will be priced aggressively. The same can be said about the new lineup of rods as well targeting mainstream anglers.
Re: New Daiwa reels
They did not seem to put a lot in the looks department. They look very plain. IMO, nothing to get excited about.
But then again, I don't have to worry about spending money on the new stuff.

Are they going to have any rods over 7’?Zander wrote:This season more than any other Daiwa seems to have spent a lot of time in the mid range. A lot of these new reels will be priced aggressively. The same can be said about the new lineup of rods as well targeting mainstream anglers.
Wanted to try their rods several times, but at 7’ and under they are just too short for me. Last winter I acquired Daiwa Morethan rod (9’, M) from Japan and been more than happy with it. The rod is built and designed for Seabass but it works amazing on SMB, steelhead and walleye..

Thanks, skeeter. Don't go out of your way. Just, if you don't mind, check it out next time you are there. Thanks again!!
