I have been bombarded with request to upgrade Revos with the same stuff I have in a few of mine.

I am sorry, I can not. I have an agreement with my Boss that any tinkering I do will be for my personal use and will not result in profit or personal gain on my part.

It may result in a liability issue.

Any possibilities of you being able to show off the guts of your Revo?

So, does that mean you have a new favorite fishing combo instead of the Conquest 50 with a Dobyns 684C?

I don't think D.R. has any more Revo's! I think it means he has a "new" favorite reel!

Heck, if he gave up one that was "as smooth as a Prom Queen's thighs"...you know he's a Ramblin' Man...

I still have REVO's. I never gave them up. They lay along side some $$$$$ reels and I still pick them up first.

I have 2 more coming for my 10 year old grandson. I cant keep his hands off mine when we are out fishing.

I agree with you D.R., the Revos are some of the best reels out there dollar for dollar.

sorry, but I disagree.

I can find a better "stock" reel in the $200 range out there that'll outperform the Revo STX. Abu still has some work to do with their braking system on them. Waaaay too difficult to tune-in the brake adjustment correctly.
I can pick up a Daiwa and fish it for an hour, and them pick up a Shimano and fish it immediately after the Daiwa, and have no problems adjusting, but if I pick up the Revo, it's like I have to really be cautious the first few casts. It's hard to tune the braking in perfect.

Ask D.R. if he'd own 7 of'em if he could not do any upgrades or alterations to them? I think not.

For a stock reel, I think they don't live up to their hype.

Yes, the mag on the Revo STX are harder to adjust, and the overall reel is usually over-hyped, but...

You can find STX reels for around $160.00 NIB...that's pretty good for what you get and still among the best for overall value at this price range.

I fished my STX for approximately one hour and then decided to sell it...I just didn't like the way it felt, but it is still a pretty solid reel overall.

The only reason I've kept my revo stx is that I thought one day I would "see the light". Never liked the overall feel of it, and always thought it was way to finicky to adjust. So...I've made it a dedicated "one trick pony".....throwing 3/8 oz jighead and plastic to hybrids. In that capacity it has the casting distance and drag required.
