New Shimanos @ El Salto...

Post by dragon1 » Wed Jun 27, 2007 12:17 am

This is one of the very best articles TT has ever done...and one of the most fun, it seems.

BTW, under "THE REELS", it should probably read "asking" "Shimano" instead of "Daiwa".

Any chance one of the new MG reels could be called Core? And that it is the US version of the Met MG with some diff styling cues? If so, wonder if the red spool will fit in the Met MG?

All I will say about the blurred pictures is this; Z free is the way to be.

Yes it's called the Core.
Does it come in a 50 size?

Great article! Anyone else wondering if the production IM-10 rods will have metal winding checks?

Some here will most likely think this sacriledge...but...

I'm more impressed with JIP's photo gear! Nice AF-S 70-210mm VR lens! ;) You don't have that hooked up to a D2X do you?

I'll make a deal with you...let me use some of your tackle and I'll let you shoot with my AF-S 400mm f2.8! ;)

Excellent article.

I can't wait to see the new line of Shimano Rods. Hope they have a nice heavier action 7"6' model in their line-up for Carolina rigs and frogs. I need just one more rod (in phase one, of my 5 year plan).

I can definitely see myself adding one of these "core" reels to my lineup. This will be a first, a US version of a reel that has MORE features than the JDM version of that same reel.

Shimano baby!! ;) 8-)

DEAL! 400/2.8!!! That sure is a nice lens! What do you shoot with it? Wildlife? Sports?

That set up in the picture is a D200+MB200+70-200/2.8 VR. I also brought my D80 with various pro glass. Going to buy
a new body at the end of this year but not sure which one yet. We will
wait and see what Nikon has to offer, or maybe even the Fuji S6, S7?

OK, TT Staff! You have really arrived! What a great experience for you, and a dynamite article! Baitmonkey is leaping around, doing backflips, etc. :P Guess I better plan on at least one of those new rods to keep my Crucial DS rod company. :D
