Gary Yamamoto Senko or Yum Dinger
which do you guys prefer over the two taking into decision durability and color selection..??
Re: Gary Yamamoto Senko or Yum Dinger
Durability, about the same.
Color- don't know as I almost always use some variant of green and both offer many options.
Cost is what has driven me mostly to Yum dingers.

The Senko has a slight advantage for weight mass.
It is a little more fragile becuase of the extra salt though.
But the fish seem to like the extra weight for some reason.

The senko is a bit heavier, it has sand in it, the copies do not. As far as the copies, most weigh .33 oz where the senko weighs .38
I suppose it boils down to what the fish are after, at times they seem to like the slower fall better, at times the faster fall makes them bite.

Re: Gary Yamamoto Senko or Yum Dinger
personally, I don't think the plastic of the senkos are very durable for the price. I catch about two or three fish and then I have to change my worm. I like the tiki wave worm as an alternative though. I have had luck with the dingers too.
Re: Gary Yamamoto Senko or Yum Dinger
I find this to be very exact. I've had days when they where tearing up a strike king zero and rarely hitting the Senko and visaversa.I suppose it boils down to what the fish are after, at times they seem to like the slower fall better, at times the faster fall makes them bite

I've not tested it personally, but a guy with access to a lab over at TU broke one down and analyzed it. It makes sense there is more than salt in there, as with salt alone, nobody has been able to make a stick bait that heavy. Clear glitter adds weight as well, some call it 'sugar', but you still have the same problem of an unusable worm, not to mention the pouring problem, as it's hard enough to pour them with the 'regular' amount of salt in them

At more than a buck (Canadian) per piece of the Senko, I haven't bought one for a while. I use the Yum Dinger. Less expensive and I think it's equally effective.
Re: Gary Yamamoto Senko or Yum Dinger
They both seem the fairly equal to me for different reasons. However I prefer the Kinami Flash do to the color selection.(Shad, Baby Bass, Moss) For some reason I catch more fish with the Shad and Baby Bass then anything I've ever used.
The Flash is softer then most but if u add the Parasite Clip they last super long.

i use yamamoto senkos. the originals cant be beat, and head to head on my boats, senkos will out catch yum at least 4-1. they catch fish, and even if they get torn up every fish (not often, but it happens), ill gladly pay the extra $ for the qulaity and fish catching ability. why go for cheap knockoffs when you can have the real thing?

I use the Dingers because it costs less and you get more per package. I can't verify whether one is remarkably better than the other as all of the guys that I fish with have switched over to the Dingers are pretty satisfied.
I've heard the O-ring wacky rig trick keeps them on longer. I'll probably go back to Senkos if I ever go that route.

Re: Gary Yamamoto Senko or Yum Dinger
For me, it has been a toss up. On some days, the Dingers work wonders. In fact, last time out, I only had one Dinger with me, and when it was torn in half, I re-hooked the half that made it back, and it still caught fish. However, it seems that when the bite slows down, the Senko triggers fish a bit better. This, of course, is completely anecdotal, so don't hold me to it!

Straying off topic.
I'm a big fan of the Case Magic Stik and the Case Big Stik and Lil Stiks..
It's heavy, catches fish and is very, very durable. Not unusual for me to catch 10 plus fish per bait.
