How does this reel stack up to the Calcutta? I see that it's line
capacity exceeds the 200 and below versions. What is a
competitor reel, daiwa or any other manufactor?

Higher gear ratio than Calcutta. Competitors are Luna and...thats it. Maybe the new Abu EXT's or whatever they're called.
