Re: Carrots
Now ya got me thinking... (Ouch! That HURT!)
Anyway... Yellow Pixy ona jet black rod with yellow accents ("Bumble Bee"?)
Or maybe a rod created from corn fiber ("Corn Stalk"?)... but a corn stalk is GREEN...
Hmmmm... Got it!
Yellow Pixy on a John Deere Green rod!
Only a farm boy would understand... Gadget

Re: Carrots
if that's the case, the cobs would be a tad brownish.

Re: Carrots
2 versions (1 spinning and 1 casting version) of the e21 Carrot Stick will be available September 21st. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the 7'2" MH flippin stick version.
TT's coverage of the e21 booth stated the rods will retail around 350 dollars. Infact, they will retail for around 150 dollars.
Although the site is not complete, you can view the rods and pre-order the Boyd Duckett Gold series of rods at http://www.e21fishing.com
*note. No direct affiliation. A friend of mine is on the pro-staff and I've been talking with him about the carrot stiks

Re: Carrots
I also found them for $150. That was a nice surprise, I'll probably try one soon.
Re: Carrots
For 350 I couldnt bring myself to pick one up, but for a buck and a half, its worth a shot.
Re: Carrots
Does anyone know if the Boyd Ducketts will be the same price range? Can't wait to see specs on the complete lines. I love my Puls-R!

Re: Carrots
Yeah, right now just two sticks... 6'9 casting and 6'7 spinning.
After the ICAST show the rods have been revised for 2 things:
1) weight of the rods are now only 3.2 ounces
2) Price... they were able to work things out and price the rods at $150.

Re: Carrots
I called Ken Whiting and spoke with him about the e-21 rods recently. I did not realize that a couple models would be available so soon (as posted earlier in this thread). One thing Ken mentioned was a lower priced model of the original Carrot Stix would become available at the $150 price point. Ken said the new model would be called the Carrot Stix LTX and would weigh significantly less than the original. The LTX will have a lighter foam type handle and a less expensive type guide than the original Carrot Stix (a couple measures making the $150 price possible). Ken speculated this should be an extremely popular rod series.
The original Carrot Stix featuring the handle as part of the rod blank, will also be available with with a lighter more refined carrot material design, and if I recall Ken's price point correctly, I believe the cost was to be about $360.
While I have not even seen the new e-21 rods, I have fished Airrus Co-Matrix 457, Ultra XL, and Puls-R rods extensively on my salmon fishing charters this summer, and based on that experience and Ken's enthusiasm for for the new e-21 rods, I am looking forward to trying some of the e-21 products and the original Carrot Stix and the LTX models both seem appealing to me.

This is the response I got when I sent an e-mail to E21 yesterday:
Edge is 190.00
Boyd Duckett 300.00
Carrot 350.00
