I have a Quantom Energy PTi 20 and love it. You can probaly get 2 of them on Ebay for $250.

New retail, I agree I would give the Luvias a try and also in the 2506 size for spool diameter but still relatively shallow spool.

The Shimanos are very nice as well, esp the newer designs, I just prefer Daiwa's designs and fishability in the spinning dept.

2500FD Sustain! You can get the 2500FD for under $200. This is a great all around versatile reel.

After comparing the new Shimano Stradic FI to my Capricorn and Exceler, I would go with the new higher end Shimano Spinning reels. I truely believe that Shimano has it right when it comes to line management for spinning reels (I didn't think it possible!).

I have a few twinpower 2000 but just received my first(not my last) Daiwa Sol 2000. Hasn't been on water yet but I like the feel so far. Mine came in at 7.9oz though the box states 8.1oz.
