Need source for War Eagle SBs...

I am looking specifically for the color called Dante's Clown or Dantes's Inferno? This skirt combo is clear/white and chartreuse with a few strands of red on the belly. Anyone know where to get this bait (if they still make it?) and whether I can get it in the Screamin' Eagle line-up?

Thanx in advance.

Call Brannans Bass Shop at 800-725-3422. I was there today and they have hundreds of War Eagle spinnerbaits. Or check them out on the web.

I'd say a lot of people know about them, at least around here

In MI I havent seen one person use them or buy them. There was an older guy at my Detroit area BPS with some huge War Eagle buzzbaits promoteing them to Musky anglers who were coming in last time I was there. Dont know if he sold any.

Been using these baits for about 5 years now and they are, IMO, as good as made for non-custom. Only thing I change is the back blade to a Hildebrandt (which I do on nearly all of my blades) as the standard blades are sub-par for quality/flash/polish/durability.

BTW, I see that Dante's Clown is no longer made...wonder if I can get them to custom make some for me in this discontinued color?

I dont even change the blades because I catch a lot of fish with them the way they are. I dont think they can be beat for the price. I really do not care for Terminator spinnerbaits those heavy wires are not a favored feature for me. The lighter wire the better if they break so be it.

True,

The factory spec blades will catch fish, however in the DW 3/8 & 1/2 oz size, War Eagle's standard blade is slightly too large for how I fish the bait.

If they have a down fall, it is that they will use an oversized rear blade to attract more buyers as it is more magnetic in its package (men are always looking for the biggest things in their packages aren't we?) due to the size of the blade.

I not only change the blade to a higher quality Hildebrandt, but will downsize .5, otherwise change the 4.5-5.0 size that they use on the 3/8-1/2oz to a 4.0. This way, there is less lift, the bait fishes deeper and will track more true.

The 1/4oz sizes however, I don't take the time to do this on since the rear blade size is IMO correct and I also don't fish 1/4oz as much.
