anyone used any of Kistlers Helium 2 LTX telescopic rods?
I'm looking at the 7'11 heavy to replace my Powell 805 for a lighter stick. I am also unsure about one piece sticks compared to telescopics. I don't mind using 7'6 rods but need one good meat stick that isn't going to keep reagrivating my tendonitis. Don't get me wrong the Powell is light there's just not a store around that stocks the LTX 2's.

Re: anyone used any of Kistlers Helium 2 LTX telescopic rods
My neighbor just got a LTX Telescoping 7/6 Heavy today. He fishes tournaments and roll casts lightweight jigs under docks a lot. He wanted the length and heft of a Heavy rod but with a fast tip for roll casts and skipping jigs. He practiced with it in his swimming pool and was ecstatic about its capabilities. He matched it with a new Zillion reel and a (big grin!).

I used a LTX He2711T most all season and liked it. I can't compare it with the Powell,(I've never used it) it is a good stick and I also threw swimbaits with it some. Bigger swimbaits overpower the tip some, (as Cal's review points out) never the less, it will work in a pinch. Good flippin' stick though.

Re: anyone used any of Kistlers Helium 2 LTX telescopic rods
It's been too long since I fished the F7-711X as a flipping/pitching rod, so I can't really say. My gut tells me the He2 is better suited for heavy cover, but the F7-711X has even a better tip than the He2HC76T for casting and pitching. In fact, the He76HC and F7-711X are more similar to one another than the same MB rod and the He2.mhood wrote:OK Cal...MB 7-11 or the He2?
