Re: Shimano Sephia or Fireblood reel
I have seen the fireblood and IMO they are Sephias with deep spool and different sizes, 1000, 2500 and 4000 (The Sephia is available only in 2500 size).

I never really paid attention to the sephia. However, the same gearing, spool, oscillation and bail technology will soon be included in the Fireblood that is in the new Stella. At least that is what I am told. Fireblood, is between Sustain and Stella.

fireblood or sephia is just a twinpower MG, it's right below stella in the range

Re: Shimano Sephia or Fireblood reel
are you sure about that? The fireblood 2500 has 9/1 , and the sephia 2500S and Twinpower MG 2500S 8/1 bearing count. Where is the extra bearing? Also can anybody confirm whether the Fireblod is getting the new Propulsion and Paladin systems as well as the Aero Wrap® II system?Zest wrote:fireblood or sephia is just a twinpower MG, it's right below stella in the range

Great it appears to be getting all the new features. They just do not come out and say it. So did the sephia get them too? It just seems to me there is a slight difference between the sephia and Fireblood.

Re: Shimano Sephia or Fireblood reel
I wonder what this reel is designed for ...judging by the characteristics of the Fireblood rods I'd say it is for seabass.

Re: Shimano Sephia or Fireblood reel
Nah...the rods are too light...check their specs. Moreover, you do not need ARB for pikes/zanders. That reel seems to be SW friendly.

Re: Shimano Sephia or Fireblood reel
They are excellent for pike and zander fishing. ARB is needed for people who might try the reel in saltwater,IMHO...Almost every Shimano reel has ARB bearings...Even those, which are supposed to be freshwater reels These reels/rods are sold mostly in West Europe (i don't know if they fish a lot in the sea). Here , in North Europe, they will be the perfect pike/zander fisherman's soul mates Usually a good pike/zander rod has a casting weight of 5-25 grams or 10-30grams (In Lithuania)...
EDIT: i think they are sold in Eastern Asia and Australia too

Europe, Austrailia and southeast asia I am told. If Yamada-san ends up not getting a source, I have a guy in singapore that gets them in next month. What price have you seen the 1000 for?Papageno1791 wrote:BTW, is this only a European market reel?

Also, the rods are a 2 piece on the website (and heavy) , but in the austrailian fireblood catalog they also have 3 one piece rods.
Additionally, they appear heavy, but how much weight is in the weight port? I would most likely remove the weight for what I need it for.
