Anyone have a Revo Premier yet?

I'm interested in seeing how this reel performs with weightless flukes and trick worms.

And of course, any other input from those who have had their hands on one :)

They do look like very nice little reels...but for their price($250ish), you're knocking on the door of a Metanium Mg7...and it'd be real hard for me to choose the Premier over an Mg7..considering their both lightweight baitcasters with heavy-duty gearing, etc. Just my thoughts..

I just got to mess around with one today when I went out to pick up some things. Really, you can't tell the difference weight wise between this reel and the core. (6.3 oz - 6.1) It is just as smooth as the other revos that are out now too.

Aren't the Mg7's $350? If so, $250 is no where near knocking at the door of an Mg7.

I looked at a core in a store and it was nowhere near as smooth as a revo stx. So...the premier is almost as light, a lot less money and smoother.

In theory, Sayaka has them for about $270.

Mg7s can be had for $270-$280 at various places online...so that's what I meant by "knocking on the door" for the Mg7...

Ah-ha, I buy locally so I wouldn't know.......I checked Ebay for the Premier and saw it going for $200 NIB.....once again, not really near the door of an MG7, unless $70-80 is pocket change to you.

it costs more then stx and has fewer bearings, I don't see the point! I still strong enough to hold the weight of the STX. Weight reduction is not really an issue for me as I don't have any high-end extra light rods!

I have a Revo Premier and it is very smooth. It casts wonderfully. I have fished with the STX also and the Premier feels smoother even tho it has less bearings. I think the lighter weight might make the difference. The light weight with the outstanding drag makes this reel one of my top favorites.

I played around with two of the Revo premiers today. They're definatly light wieght but they don't feel near as smooth the STX or a Chronarch MG (for the same price). The first one I had, had the drag backed up and it was no where close to the 24 pounds of drag advertised. The second one was on full and was definatly twice as strong of a drag.

I did a little bit of short distance casting/flipping with it and it preformed well, casts well but I still don't think I'm 100% sold on it...
