New Rod need help picking a reel.

Post by olds350ho » Fri Sep 21, 2007 8:16 pm

I just bought a Kistler Magnesium TS 6'9" MH. I will be using it for spinner baits. Iam thinking of putting either a TD-Z 103H or a Daiwa Sol on it, I have both just sitting around. This is also my first Kistler Rod. I read the TT review on the Rod and was impressed, and was wondering if anyone else uses this rod and what where your impressions on in. Thanks
-Jimmy

PS. I will try to post some pics soon.

I use the 6'6'' version, I bought it from Cal after he reviewed it. I have a Ch100B on it and use it for Spinnerbaits, jerkbaits and Spooks. I like it a lot for what I use it for, I've really never tried any other lures on it but I doubt it would disappoint.

The TDZ 103H over the Sol for SBs between those two reels.

This was my first higher end rod :)

It started off with a Curado 101D on it, but now it has a Revo STX. To me, this combo feels very well balanced.

I just threw a spinnerbait on this combo all day on Sat, and I'd recommend it for that application.

Why don't you try out the new Shimano Core for me. I bet it would be a sweet combo.
