new line 10lb

Post by cur123 » Tue Jun 14, 2005 12:20 pm

Need a new line to put on my cabela prodigy. I am deciding to put 10lb of either: Trilene XT or XL, the new Suffix line: elite or siege, P-Line mono or flouroclear, yo-zuri hybrid line or maybe even braid.

So far I really like the new Sufix line, but haven’t used it enough yet to make an educated recommendation.

yea i saw the other post about suffix and wanted to try it. i basically fish for panfish, walleye, and bass. I had trilene before, so i know its good. People say that P-line is really good. Out of the two pline mono, and mono fluroclear which would you get? and does any1 use braid on their spinners?

I tried sufix this weekend for the first time. I really liked it ,and I'm planning to put it on all my spinning rods. I fish for the same species as mentioned above.

Since you mentioned "Cabelas"... That's the only line I use except for topwater.

I'm currently using Spider Wire braid 10# on my spinning reel and love it, I can't believe how strong it is.

power pro braid by far is the best. Period i use that for salt water and fresh water applications and have had no problems with it. Put a mono backing and you should be fine.

i also fish for muskie once in a while, maybe ill put braid and a mono leader. Cabela prodigy came with two spools, so ill prob spool one with braid and the other with pline or suffix

Curl 123,

What size prodigy do you have? My vote goes to P-Line Floroclear. I tried 12 lb test floroclear on my Shimano Biomaster 2500 this weekend and it worked very well. So 10 lb test floroclear should work well if you own a 1500 size prodigy.

Oh...Pure Flourocarbon has a higher density than mono and therefore sink quicker.

ok, for sure im putting powerpro on the first spool. The other im putting P-Line fluroclear or CXX (whats the diff? they both are flurocarbon coated) and still considering suffix elite
