I haven't tried the Cabela's rod soxs, but I have 16 of the one's BPS sells ($3.99) and they work great. It makes it nice to slide a rod in one of the lockers and not hang up. They are worth buying.

I use those socks. I like them. My favorite style sock for in the boat use. Really help keep your rods from getting tangled or dinged. Also allows me to easily double up my rods in the tubes in my rod locker.

Thanks MATT, they look like the ones that BPS sells as well and for the same price. I might have to get one or two and see how they work out.

For guys that store their rods in carrying tubes and such I prefer a style of bag that encloses the entire rod. Can't think of the brand my brother-in-law uses but it adjusts for length with a type of Velcro closure and the end (butt end) seals with Velcro. They don't slide into rod locker rod tubes real well and that's why I prefer that Cabela's style sock. Also my rods are always in my boat rod locker or in a vertical rod rack on the wall.

I used the Cabelas rod socks last year and won't go without them, no more tangles. Just make sure to get the large, my rods are all 6'6" and they work great. :D

My wife takes 8" x 60" felt backed vinyl fabric and makes all of mine on her sewing machine, cheap and durable. Now, I'm probably going to have to remind her since we have a few new setups for xmas and we're going to nead at least 4 more.
