Picasso Shockblade does it for me!

I was literally just considering a thread on this, mainly asking about if there are better options than what I currently use. I don't catch many fish on chatter's, but when I do, they are good ones. The days bladed jigs work, they also produce numbers, just for some reason that scenario is rare for me.

I loved the original D&M Piranha, best ever made for me, only have 1/2oz sizes though and one 3/4 that I will probably never use (I bought heavy ones trying to keep the lure down).
I like the Picasso Shock Blades, use the lighter versions in place on spinnerbaits in shallow cover.
Bought some of the Strike King Rage Blades for sale at Wal-Mart, and had a great day or two fishing them with grubs or flukes only, removed the skirt completely.
The Z-Man Custom that TW carries is another good one.

The lures I wish I had tried are the Phenix (newest way of connecting blade to head), the Strike King Thunder Cricket (very interested knowing it has an Owner Jungle Hook), and maybe the Evergreen JH if I can justify the price.

I would really love to find out where to purchase the Jackall Derabreak jigs. The smaller size would be perfect for my river system.

JP-Angler has a few in stock, currently.

With rereading this thread in mind, what is everyone's favorite method for fishing bladed jigs during the postspawn period and into summer? I'm normally fishing small ponds and lakes up to 15 acres from shore or my kayak. Most of these have emergent weeds, moss cover, wood and the occasional dock. Just wanted to get a few more ideas.

I'm pretty sure Z-Man does. It might be the Elite version. I think I have one. Let me dig around to verify.

Omega makes a chatterbait with those exact components. I’ve switched over to their baits exclusively because they include a ball bearing swivel between the head and blade which causes the bait to have a really erratic kick at medium to high speeds. The non-weedguard version has a tougher time going through wood but i think that’s an issue with most chatterbaits

I’m fairly new to chatter baits, so I don’t claim
to be an expert, but I’m very impressed with the
Picasso Aaron Martens Shock Blade Pro. And it
really has nothing to do with the fact that I caught
a nice smallie on my first cast with it.

I fish the Upper Niagara River which absolutely grabs
everything that comes into contact with the bottom.
I thought my experience with the 3/4 oz. Picasso
would be short-lived because usually just a 3/8 oz. jig
has a short life span. I bounced it off the bottom
without a single snag for a full day before losing it,
and I believe it was not the bottom but metal object
that finally claimed it.

By the way, I did catch a few more smallmouth before
my line was cut by the unknown culprit
