Jig skirt collar rubber holder

Jig it, spin it, buzz it, if it's got a wire or a lead head, it can and will be discussed in here.

How do you savage a great skirt when the rubber band collar holder starts wear out?

Green floral wire works really well.

Or tie it on with some old braid if you don't want to replace the rubber collar (braid is the easier option for me but I've done both).

Single strand of copper wire from stranded THHN wire, wrapped twice, twisted tight, cut close to the bait and then fold over the tag end tight to the bait. I do this to every jig, chatterbait, spinnerbait and buzzbait I own.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I do the same thing with copper craft wire.

I wire my skirts, too, but I leave the tag ends long (1 1/4"+-), twist them all the way up so they're rigid, cut off just the tips, and bend that wire twist back down the hook shaft to act as a bait keeper. I use 28 gauge galv. wire from Home Depot.
