What is your go-to Jackhammer/Cricket trailer?
What is your go-to Jackhammer/Cricket trailer?
would love to hear your thoughts in terms of clarity, temp, season, etc
Re: What is your go-to Jackhammer/Cricket trailer?
My favorite trailer is the RI Little Dipper. It works from spring to fall. I fish natural lakes with clear water and lots of weeds.

Paddletails, usually a 5” Rhythm Wave or Skinny Dipper. Every now and then if they are only grabbing the tail, I’ll use a fluke. I don’t use either one of those chatterbaits though.

Keitech Swing Impact Fat 3.8 to 4.8 all year. It's mostly due to the high level of continence I have using them. I'm sure many other trailers work well too.

I like to keep color simple, white or green pumpkin chatterbait with matching trailer. Those 2 colors have worked under any conditions. One thing we have seen a difference with is dipping the tail in Chartreuse SpikeIt. Makes a huge difference when there’s some color in the water

I love a paddle tail of the appropriate size and color. I also really like the Kalin Scrub, it seems to really make the jig hunt. Brian.
Are you fishing or aimlessly casting around?
Re: What is your go-to Jackhammer/Cricket trailer?
When fishing shallow a Zako, Live Magic Shad, or Optimum Double Diamond. When fishing deeper I like a fluke as it gives it more of a "hunting" motion and even more so if you don't put it on perfectly straight

If you like to keep things in the family with the Cricket, the Rage Bug and Rage Swimmer (especially the swimmer) make really good trailers.
Otherwise, that Reaction Innovations Spicy Beaver continues to be a favorite of mine on any type of swimming jig vibrating or not.

Cal are you rigging that spicy beaver vertically or horizontally on the chatter? It's also become a go-to bait for me but moreso texas rigged or as a jig trailer. Haven't put it on a chatterbait yet.Cal wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 6:56 amIf you like to keep things in the family with the Cricket, the Rage Bug and Rage Swimmer (especially the swimmer) make really good trailers.

I'm not creative enough to rig it vertically ... I just thread it on like you would a paddle tail... you can see the body in this photo, but I didn't take one of the back because this photo was for the vibrating jig, not the Spicy Beaver... in case anyone is wondering, this is the Catch Outdoors Zero Gravity Hybrid Airquake.jerkbait22 wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 3:29 pmCal are you rigging that spicy beaver vertically or horizontally on the chatter?
