Iaconelli fishing Devil's Spear at ICAST

Did anybody see Iaconelli fishing the Devil's Spear at ICAST? He cut the tail down the middle and it seemed to give it more action. Anyone tried this yet and have any success?

Wow looks sweet though! I haven't caught anything on the Devil Spear yet, because I've been using the Pit Boss more. I'm going to try it out tomorrow, here's some videos:
