5" stick bait, I'll use a 4/0 or 5/0 Gamakatsu EWG, go up or down sizes from there depending on the thickness & length of the stick I'm rigging.

Best I have found are the (expensive) owner twist locks with the thinner wire. 3/0 for 4 inch, 4/0 for 5 inch. They still explode on contact, but that's Senkos for you.

If I put a headcase on it I use a 2/0 or 3/0 EWG.

I know you will not believe this, but most of the top pros use a heavy jig hook.
Heavy Gamakatsu 5/0
60 degee bend, using a twisted eye screwed into the senko nose.
you just bury the hook solid into the senko body.

If you want? You can put a little slice into the bottom of Senko, This will give you faster hookups. But will not be as weedless.

I use a 5/0 Gammy straight shanked worm hook (with the barbs closed) and a wire loop tied and epoxied with non stretch line to the hook. Additionally the hook is bent to increase its gape. This hook is also used for Baby Paca Craws and other soft plastics.

Hard to see is a knot on the eye that is placed where the eye loop meets the shank of the hook. This is done to avoid the knot tied to the hook creeping down to the eye crack which has caused me break-offs on the hook set.

Pictured for comparison is a 4/0 Gamakatsua Heavy Cover worm hook.

I use a 3/0 EWG hook for the 5" model, the senko is a fast falling bait and I don't want to add to it, on occasion I'll use a 4/0 hook but when I do use that size it will be a light wire hook so I don't add to the fall rate.

5/0 Gamma ROUND BEND! Longer shank than EWG and really hooks well.

5" 4/0 Gama EWG

4" 2/0 Gama EWG. I might even go down to a 1/0 on this one if the bite is tough for a more finesse approach. I rig Texas Weedless most of the time.

For wacky I use the Owner Weedless 1/0 Wacky hook.

Lazer Trokar EWG 3/0 or 4/0 depending on the Senko being used.

i only really fish 5 inch worms, and always use 2/0 gamy ewg hooks. I have red and nickle, and the red work better i think looks bleeding with my red fleck worms and beavers.

For years I used 3/0 EWG Gammy hooks for 5" Senkos.

Last year I tried the Owner Twist Lock Light hooks and they are all I use now. The Senkos last longer and they do not slip down the hook.

One thing: I've found that I prefer 4/0 for 5" Senkos since the "twist lock" pushes the plastic farther down the hook than the EWG.
