Best 12-15" worm

Post by BluFleck » Thu Sep 12, 2013 3:36 am

I need to get my hands on the biggest worms possible. I've used Powerworms, C-Mac's and Ol' Monsters but wanted to try something different or perhaps a hand pour.

thanks!

I've never used them, but Basspro offers a 16" worm. Here's a link (hopefully it works): http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-1 ... /25312803/

Lastly, if you have any luck, let us know. I'm interested, but I'm mainly a finesse fisherman and rarely throw worms over 6".

I've had good success with these. The tail offers a lot of action and they have some great colors. My favorites are tequila and black & blue when fishing in somewhat clear water. I can toss these weightless and let them sit on the bottom for a bit, just a small twitch gets that tail flailing around and bass smash them.

My big worm of choice is the Rage Tail Anaconda... but turns out those are only 10" long. They are a quality big worm though if length isn't your only criteria.

I don't fish waters where this type of worm would be effective, but if I did I would be stitching this worm.

These Upton Worms have won a lot of spring tournaments over the last few years at Diamond Valley Lake. We throw the 12" Power Worm once the water gets in the 70's (summer night tournaments). Both worms have won me a few bucks. Some of the guys around here have resorted to melting together two of them and throwing them on their biggest swimbait rods. It's a lot of fun. Some guys do the same thing in South Texas.

I've been known to neko rig those big worms. Upton's and a 10" Yum Mighty worm do nicely. ;)
