Finesse Shaky Heads?
Finesse Shaky Heads?
Does anybody have a recommendation for shaky heads with smaller (size 1 or so) hooks? Ideally with a screw lock.
I like to fish big 4 - 4 1/2 inch ned worms on a regular-size shaky head to make them weedless (works better IMHO than weed guards). Looking for an easy way to do the same with 3 inch worms, but it's hard to find shaky heads in that size.

These come in a 1/16oz-2/0, but it's a pretty small hook. That worm is 3.5".

I make a 1/16oz and a 1/8oz shaky head with both a size #1 and a 1/0 light wire flat eye hook. The screw lock I use is a small diameter so you can use pretty thin worms on it.

3 inch worm on a 1/16 shaky head jig, I fish it on a St. Croix Legend panfish 7ft light extra fast with a Daiwa Exist with Sufix 4lb Nano Braid and 4 lb Ultragreen leader, might cause an uproar but it will humble the "NED RIG".

Bingo! That's exactly what I like them for, makes a great weedless not-a-but-totally-a-Ned-rig that comes right through thickest cover. (Much better IMO than a regular Ned head with wire weed guards.) And a floating worm elevates it well and the bend of the hook is right on the ground.

Is that a custom jig head?
