Hmm. How do I get that on a wave walk? Just get a Scotty mount?

I kinda have an idea, but really don't have any experience with either the product or the wave walks, so I can't say my idea is worth a darn. You could try to contact the owner of mad frog gear and see if he has any experience/insight..

I would use the Yak Attack Gear Track, or the Yak Attack Mighty Mount. Mount either one to the toon of your Wave Walk, and mount the Liberator Mini to the Gear Track, or the Mighty Mount. Then you could easily remove the Liberator Mini, and leave the mounting system in place wether it be the Mighty Mount, or the Gear Track, and you could also attach other items to the Gear Track or the Mighty Mount.

And they sell the Mad Frog Liberator also

Thanks for the tips! I will call the Liberator folks today. Ideally l'd like that swing arm to move between the two tips of the hull...that 12 inch gap you see pictured on the yellow and green models at the top of the page:

http://www.wavewalk.com/

That would keep it out of the way of paddles, etc. and generally keep the wave walk as close to "4x4" as possible relative to slamming into docks, etc. I always dislike mounting stuff that extends beyond the outer hull...seems like I am always getting that stuff stuck on something. Leaning forward to lift and lower the transducer with it mounted that way is nbd on a wave walk.

Here is another idea.

You could mount a 4” piece of Gear Trac to the upper side of the hull out of the way of your paddle stroke preferably forward.

Then a 1” Screw Ball to the Gear Trac.

Then add a Yak Attack Dog Bone as your transducer deployment arm. There are several different sizes and styles.

This is just a thought, they come randomly.

That's cool. Wondering if any of you know...the liberator arm...can those be mounted to a ram mount platform/ball mount? I have a ram mount for my 385ci...trying to figure out if I can just bolt the liberator platform onto that ram platform.

Yes, it’s able to be done, but not my preference. If I wanted to go all RAM and keep it the way you described it would be like this. This would stand up fairly tall and be a lot of connections, and I don’t know how stable and secure this would be with all the connections, but using a RAM Ball and wanting to use the Liberator this is what I could think of off the top of my head. You would bolt the Liberator directly to the mounting plate of the fishfinder base.

Fish Finder Base
Double Socket Connector
RAM Ball

I just bought a Humminbird 798ci DI for my new Hobie Outback. A buddy of mine his father-in-law is making me a custom bracket for the transducer which will be attached to the rudder system but will be behind the rudder if that makes any sense. I hope to have pictures of my new project up asap.

Jerry, is this down imaging only or side imaging as well?

I was able to test out my yack on the water on sunday.. i didnt sink, which is a plus! LOL..

Ok so I was able to do the following so far to the stock Outback:
1.) Installed & mounted RAM mount for rod holder to the right front
2.) Installed & mounted RAM mount + Humminbird 798ci DI FF left front + ran transducer cable to the back (But still waiting for the transducer ruder mount).
3.) Installed Ritchie flush mount compass
4.) Installed (2) more Hobie mesh pockets

Still on my to-do list:
1.) Mount transducer to ruder mount
2.) Install Red LED lighting + toggle switch in the cockpit of the kayak

As you can see, I don't have too much more to work on, the LED lighting will take the longest. The ruder mount i need to send off to my buddy who will need to powder coat it black for me before i mount it. Once im 100% done, this thing is going to be one killer ass kayak!!!!!
