Post by keng8554 » Mon Apr 06, 2015 6:19 pm

Had some wonderful weather and got to fish in it.
Biggest fish was in the 4-5 lb class.

Nice video. Thanks for sharing.

What yak is that?

It looked like you were staying put pretty well while fishing with either a stiff breeze or current. How were you managing that?

Ocean kayak bg2. I have an anchor system. It was quite a windy day, gusts to about 15 mph. I find it necessary at times.

Keng, what are you using for an anchor system? HOOK1 TV show, the main guy on it used the micro power pole on the back of his kayak where the rudder normally would be... kind of a great idea but no clue where I would put the pole..

This is no where near as fluid and probably less effective than a power pole micro anchor. But it cost me about 40$ to make.

Considering I saved about 600$ I can live with it. Also the advantage that I have over that power pole is that I can anchor in up to 16 FOW. I think I could increase its efficacy by increasing the weight of the anchor or maybe just changing the shape. Its a 5lb barbell weight and if there is a good gust or I hook a good fish I can still drag it.
