Big Doings At Shady Acres!! Rang in the new year by executing some rather good casts down a hallway using a casting plug and a 5' rod...scared the help a bit, but no one was injured in the experiment/revelry.
Sort of used an alcove for positioning and a sidearm cast.
Able to test out an Okuma VS 15A reel a bit...can't wait to get it outside on an 8' rod!!
I recently provided a rod/reel for my nursing aide's ten year old son and was training her up on the basics of spinning so she could be his technical support...reel attachment, filling a spool, drag use, casting technique explanation and etc. Heretofore, both had used spincast equipment.
Was quite entertaining and no hangover!
