Ultralight cranks

Post by uljersey » Sun Mar 08, 2015 7:48 am

I'm always on the lookout for well made small cranks, they're not always easy to find. Gonna give one of these Molix Finesse cranks a go -

1 3/4" long, 3/16 oz. From what little info I can find on Molix, they're supposed to be very well made and the paint/finish is very durable. They're an Italian company. Although Molix has been around a while, these have just come out so there is no feedback on this model yet.

Nice little selection of colors, I'm going with the sunfish pattern as shown above. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Molix_FC ... #multiview

Perhaps some of our membership from across the pond have some input on the company...

Checkout the Rebel Micro Series. Will be trying out a few of these year. They look interesting.

Give us the skinny break down after you get a few wet. I'm on the hunt for some nice smaller cranks as well.

As of this morning there are 3 colors out of 8 available that are on back order until April, and low quantities of several others. There definitely is some interest there, which may be partly due to TW being tentative on having too many initially. Odd to see that much interest in a small bait.

Very interesting lines to this bait that were not visible from the picture on TW. The "squareness" is intriguing, I can't wait to see how it runs. The suggested rod power is ML with a line range of 8 - 12 lb FC or mono ... hah ! 12 lb is my heavy line. I'll be running mine on a L power rod with a 6 lb mono leader.

It seems to be a very well made bait. Hooks are extremely sharp, split rings are of suitable quality. I love the paint scheme. It still has to catch fish though. It's going to be a week or two until I'm able to get out, I'll follow up with a performance review.

I'll be very interested in seeing how you like them. I've got an unhealthy obsession with UL crankbaits and have been itching to pull the trigger. Luckily most of the colors I'm interested in are on backorder and TW will be ready for their "Tax Sale" by the time they come in.

Why is my favorite thing about the look of those Molix cranks is that the eyes make it look angry??? I'd buy em just for that reason alone lol.

That front view is pretty cool. Like somebody smashed his eyes in with a pointer finger and thumb. Or maybe a down syndrome fish.

Hmm maybe fish will feel sorry for it and take it out of its misery? Productive based off of fish emotions... Probably just wishful thinking.

Any on the water reviews? That Molix lure looks great.
