Your top cranks

Post by sqhertz » Fri Feb 05, 2016 10:54 pm

I'm looking into some small cranks for my bfs or UL spinning. I usually don't fish them but I do have some original floating rapalas, shad raps and pins minnows. I'm really liking the way those yo zuri bevy series look but they are pricey. What's everyone's top 2 or 3 baits for each depth?

Surface?
Mid
Deep
Lipless

Thanks!

highly versatile in almost any situation. I've used these bad boys to out fish people with live bait. lol maybe not but dam close to it.

$1 maybe $2 with free shipping per lure, you can get great deals, just have to upgrade the hooks over time: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Fishing- ... 51094b22b8

Rapala Countdown in "1" size, 1/16 oz. Given their sinking nature, they can be fished at a variety of depths.

Acme's "Little Cleo" if you transition from crank to spoon...though I'd like to try some of the huge amount of JDM spoons out there.

Rapala CD-1 and the Rapala UL series. I haven't used the light bulb shaped ones but the minnow and shad shaped ones are pretty good. They track good and get good distance. I've caught anything from panfish to big pike on them.

Excellent, thanks guys!
Ive been eyeing those newish Rapala ultralight cranks for a while now as well as the countdowns in the 1/8oz size. I could cover almost every depth with cranks from that series.
Ideally I'd like them to weigh 1/8 or have some weight system like the xrap or pins minnows. Makes casting on my bfs easier.

I like sinking cranks. I got some of these little 50mm Duo cranks late last year. They cast like rockets and have a great action. I got shut down by the weather before I really got a chance to give them a thorough review, but I'm impressed by what I've seen so far. They also have them in a 45mm version.

Those duos look nice. I've added some to my fleabay watch list.
Thanks
