Thanks!poisonokie wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:22 amHate to say this, but check out the yapada spoons on all express. They have great finishes and use owner hooks. You'll save a ton of money. The ones by Daiwa are exorbitantly expensive by comparison. At least use the yapadas until you find all the snags. They say Lure Land on the packaging if that helps track them down.

That post about casting these was supposed to be in the reels forum, but take from it what you will.

Acme Kastmaster and Luhr Jensen's Cast Champ are always my first pick. Simply they work in various water from ponds to stream rapids. If need a heavier type Krocodiles would be my next pick. If heavy weight and for drifting scenario Acme KO Wobbler spoon. Nothing fancy but works are Bomber Slab spoons. They are just heavy for it's size.
More traditional spoon shape are Eppinger Daredevle spoons.
Honorable mentions always goes to the Swedish pimple. If the trout are turning away from the wider spoon profiles. The thin profile of a pimple always works it magic.

I'll admit I haven't used these, but they seem to get high marks from trout fishermen.

Re: Trout spoon recommendations?
I like Smith JDM spoons but I'll admit at more than 6 bucks each I don't buy many.
I did pick up 6 Countbass spoons and 8 Yapada spoons from Ali.
Both brands have excellent finishes.
The Yapadas are brass and have an Owner single hook......for like 1.75ea, you can't beat that.
In all I got 14 spoons for what I would have paid for 6 Smiths.
