Does anyone recognize this micro soft plastic?

Post by Finesse » Tue Jul 02, 2019 6:08 am

I was going through an old tackle box given to me and found this single micro swimbait but it's not something I've seen before and I would love to get my hands on more of these. I fished this lil guy on a tiny jighead and hooked a decent bass but broke off and lost the plastic. It has a segmented body and is maybe 1.5 in or a little more in length

Looks like a Lake Fork Boot Tail Baby Shad with a bit of the head cut off. Could be something different that I'm not familiar with though if it wasn't cut off at the head, as the LF Boot Tail Baby Shad is 2.25" long; kinda looks like it could have been that long based on your pic though. Regardless, I think it would fit the bill, as it looks nearly identical.

Doesn't look like they have the color you have in stock, but I'm 99% sure it's the right bait. Should be able to find the blue/chartreuse elsewhere if you look around a bit if you want that specific color.

He nailed it. The color is bluegrass, which is currently out of stock via the LFT site.

The cuts in the side made me think it was a Lake Fork plastic too.

Lake fork baby shad. Those have been my go to tiny plastic for a long time.

Still have a few of the ones you had sent me. Great little baits.

Charlie Brewer Slider brand, makes a very close one in their minnow. 2 1/8" long. The cuts appear to be a little different.
