Pond Fishing
Pond Fishing
Been fishing my #bfs setup lately. It consists of the Shimano 16 Aldebaran BFS XG and Ace Hawk CU Double 1.8M UL/L with 6# Suffix Elite Hi-Viz yellow line. Been fishing my UL cranks and some 1 gram jig heads with plastic. The reel is stock with no upgrades or cleaning. It is a very capable BFS reel out of the box.
Got a couple brutes while fishing with my #bfs setup today. First on came on a 1.3g C'ultiva JH-85 jig head with a 1" black curly tail grub. The second one came on a 1g C'ultive JH-85 jig head with a 13 Fishing bubble gum Jeffery. Both of these put up a good fight and where pulling drag.
I got my start into BFS while using 2 different Abu Garcia Reels with aftermarket spools. They are the Revo S4 and the Revo SX4. These where a good intro but wish I went with the Aldebaran first. I am able to cast smaller and lighter stuff with less backlashes on the Aldebaran. Also don't need to set the brakes as high on the Aldebaran.

Re: Pond Fishing
Mike, sounds like you're doing very well with the new Aldebaran and BFS in general. Amazing you can cast a 1 g lure on 6# mono. I know I can't, but I've still got a lot to learn about BFS.
FYI, your pictures don't show. In my opinion, the best way to post pics here is to use postimage.org. No need to register. Chose the image posting size, then the file and then upload. Once done it will provide a link for forum posting that you simply paste into your message.
Eager to see your pics since pond fishing is one of my favorite activities.
