I've come to the conclusion I'm going to want more than one setup. And in true tackle monkey fashion I've also decided to take up rod building. Down the rabbit hole I go.
That's the way I did most of my BFS rods. There are some nice factory ones and they are less of a gamble but when you build "that rod"...there is no other feeling

I'm going to start by building a couple of more budget minded rods first. Maybe a couple of panfish rods before I start with a pricier blank.

When getting into UL blanks, they can vary so much...even with the same ratings.

Can you recommend or rank some blanks that fish true to ratings. Still doing research on all of this and gathering the things I need to get started.

Ummm...what type of fish do you plan of fishing for? Do you use braid or mono/FC? What size lures?

I can only use my experience with the many blanks I have used.

Primarily bass with some panfish mixed in. Would be throwing small hair jigs down to 1/16oz along with small cranks and jerk baits no more than 1/4oz. I use braid to mono leader.
