Comp blank to SHX PMB 705
Comp blank to SHX PMB 705
Does anyone have any experience with a blank that is comparable in action, power and fishability to the Shikari SHX PMB 705?
Absolutely one of my all-time favorites for multi-purpose of 3/8 - 1oz techs and I would like another custom build on a like blank.
TIA.

Hi Dragon,
We have one that will mimmic what your looking for. This is a Ultra High Modulus blank of ours. Check it out: http://www.rainshadowrodblanks.com/prod ... s-casting/
IMMC73HXF
If you want to not have something in the Ultra High Modulus. You could do something like this: http://www.rainshadowrodblanks.com/prod ... s-casting/
REVC72H
I hope this helps!

Kool, thanks.
I prefer not too high in modulus as the PMB 705 SHX has a nice loading tip to it, while still delivering backbone like a GLoomis 844 in the IMX/GLX line-up.
Great overall blank, I like it better than the MBR 843 IMX for overall fishability.

Well to give you an idea on both of these blanks. They almost have the same strength that you are requiring. The Immortal line is a higher modulus, but the strength of the blanks is near the Revelation line.dragon1 wrote:Kool, thanks.

The Immortal, if price is permitting, would be the best match. For a more affordable line, go to the Revelation. Both you will very pleased!
FYI, we have people using this rod in the Revelation line to fish for Albacore Tuna.. So I think the "backbone" should be plenty!

Good info., again much appreciated. Do you have a ROD wrack or common cents listing for these blanks vs the PMB 705 SHX? I was hoping you or someone would have this data somewhere.
Otherwise, lure/line/power/taper ratings can vary tremendously when the overall fishability/loading/castability/fighting feel and capabilities of blanks are being compared.

Im working on getting some of our stuff over to Mattman for this.. Unfortunately we don't have have this data available to public. We do have the lure/line/power/taper ratings available, but like a lot of other people say, every manufacturer is different!dragon1 wrote:Good info., again much appreciated.
