I haven't used this product.

I expect it to be like U-40's Permagloss.

I know others have covered text successfully. But it is a "hot" finish so it will attack a lot of things. I'd test first. I'd also bet you need to seal any writing. And, because this is a very low build finish, it probably won't cover your writing and be level. If your text is slightly raised, the finish will be as well.

I know a few guys that use urethane finish for the low build. But they still use epoxy over inscriptions/decals.

so this means it is solvent based.

hmm . . . my plan was to cover the writing and some inches of the blank and the rest of the bottle to use it as a finish for my UL crancks.
now I'm curious how it will be over the acrilics I use for them.

I have used it over rattle can paints on a rod, and it lifted the paint where it did not bond well to the blank. The second time, it worked much better due to mproved prep. My coating is not 100% even around the blank, which may or may not bother you. For around writing, I would go with rod finish of your choice in order to get a very smooth clean finish.

Just a guess.

I'm assuming this is a competitive product to U-40 Permagloss. A 1-part urethane finish.

I've not used it so I don't actually KNOW...just assuming from what I read in your link...and RodDancers site.

I got the idea.
I will make some tests when the package will arrive and I will post the results.
