Phenix T-46 available yet??

When production rods are not enough, it's time to go custom. Come share your experiences building and/or ordering a custom rod and tell us if you'll ever go back to off the shelf.

This is correct for customs, remove all your components and guides before you ship it in. The warranty only covers the blank, and that all we need back. Phenix does not have a production rod in The T46 blank. When they do it will be in the low $400.00 range. We only offer the K2-T46 blank, at $209.-239.00. It was just a small type o on TT write up!

good to know, thanks. My only experience w/ warrantying a custom was w/ St Croix and they said send the whole thing in and they sent everything back. But like you mentioned it's not a defect claim so this way makes sense.

I doubted. The new blanks are delayed and are not due to ship to the dealers until late August. Harry

I would say this blank should be every bit of nrx of better.
Their mbx blanks outfish croix's scv easily IMO. Way better than the stock glx's o have fished.

My builder is going to build a rod or two on the new blank before I drop the $$$
I'm normally his $$$ dropping dummy.

I have been testing the K2 series T46 for a few month. It is my opinion that these are BETTER than the NRX. Newer technology, material and lighter. Here are some examples:
7'1" heavy blank wt

736 with Fuji Split reel seat

736 7'3" xhvy finished wt with heavy Hypalon grip

I can't wait when the blanks are avaialble at the end of August.

I have been speaking to a unnamed phenix rep on the west coast regarding the t46 and, from what ive heard, the blanks will go about 200-250 and the finished rod will go for 350-399.

1) has anyone compared the powers of these blanks to stcroix or loomis?

2) will the saleable, production models come in as light weight as the prototypes?

The blanks will be shipping to vendors that pre-ordered by end of August. There is not got to be a production rod using this blank till possibly 2012!

How can you compare it to an NRX blank... my understanding is that NRX are not available as blanks, only finished rods?

Thanks for the heads up Vince, any word on the Recon blanks they have listed on thier site? and do you have any idea how they look? Im assuming they look the same as the Recon series of rods that are coming out with the woven look?
