does graphite accept laquer paint?

i intend on painting some graphics onto my custom 807 rogue swim bait rod and i wonder if laquer based paint will be compatible with the graphite in a rogue? has anyone painted a rod before? gimme ur thoughts plz.... :D :D :D

You shouldn't have any problems with the graphite.

I'd be more worried about any finish that is on there. I still think you'd be OK, but I'd test on a small area to make sure your paint isn't going to lift any finish that's on the blank.

Personally, I'd use something like Createx airbrush paint which is water based and then clear coat that with a urethane finish.
