Broken guide
I bought a used rod on another forum. Almost made it in one piece but the second guide from the top (single footed guide) had snapped off somehow. Rod tube was not damaged and rod had bubble wrap but the rod tube was bigger in diameter than normal so I think the rod must have moved around too much.
Anyway I've never built or repaired a rod before and I've only replaced a broken tip before. Is this an expensive repair if I find a builder who will fix it? Is this something that is hard to do without specific tools?
The rod is a daiwa zillion zil701mlrb so it has SIC guides and I believe the frames are stainless.
Thanks

Re: Broken guide
The other option is sending it back and getting a refund but other than the broken guide I like it. Just wondering if it's worth it to have it fixed.

Re: Broken guide
Any reputable builder should be able to replace the guide with a matching one, and also match the wraps closely. Imho, it shouldn't be more than $20 labor, either.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Call Fisherman's Warehouse in Manteca, and ask them who they use.
