Alpha Angler blanks

Post by mobass11652 »

Does anyone know who Alpha Angler is using for their blanks? I got to play with one of their chatterbait rods today. If I had to wager a guess, I would say it is a Northfork NEO.

If you’re talking about the NFC X-ray 765 NEO, it's not the same blank as the 765 doesn't have a glass tip. Most likely.. The glass is weaved or layered all over the blank, but I'm not sure of the details. The 765 also have ridges all along the blank, although it wouldn't be too hard to sand all the ridges down. Also, the 765 just came out as well. I'm not sure if there are other NEO blanks in NFC's line up.

I was told they roll their own, but I'm not so sure about that. They definitely resemble NFC blanks.

They have the same ridges as found on the NEO, x ray and delta. I will have a chance to measure both side by side sometime next week. I am not aware of any other NEO other than the 765 X Ray.

I'm super curious as well.

I've been looking for a blank like their 6'10" DSR model that really loads up and allows for some bend way down into the blank. Wonder if they cut a blank down or have it made specifically for them?

I would say it is the Northfork dropshot rod, it loads deeply into the blank

From the Wrench spinning rod description. Looks like NFC to me.

Blank:  Like every other custom bass rod in the Alpha lineup, the Wrench has very specific requirements from its blank.  It’s extremely important to have a light enough tip to slingshot your bait 30 feet under a boat dock, but that same need creates a bigger, more important requirement...  power.  Specifically, parabolic power that allows constant pressure on that dock-post weaving monster, who ate your slinky.  The Wrench’s blank contains all these features, along with excellent balance and sensitivity delivered by high grade graphite.  The Blank is Custom Manufactured for Alpha in Woodland, WA (USA.)  You will feel the difference in your hand and agree it's the best bass spinning rod on the planet.
