bass Tender 10 .6 ft Bass boat

Post by Joe Man » Wed Jul 07, 2004 1:51 pm

I just wanted to let everone know my wife bought me the (Waterquest) bass tender 10-1/2 ft mini bassboat for my 40th birthday; which did soften the blow of hitting that age. If anyone wants to know anything about this boat feel free to ask me. For starters it is bigger than what I thought it would be at 5ft wide and 10'.6" in lenth is longer than you think it is! I ended up buying a trailer for it which cost me $650 for a galvinized one. I'm told with a weight of this boat at only 215lbs with a 10hp O/B motor will move the boat at over 20mph. For now I will use my 52lbs motorguide trolling motor. However the speed does intrigue me. This boat is cool and the the padded swivel seats are also bigger than I thought. PS she bought it at Boaters World in SanJose Ca. this place offers free shipping on any Catalog Item not in stock. later Joeman...........

Joe Man,

Nice rig! If you ever do make it go anywhere near 20mph, let me
know which lake you're fishing at. I want to check it out. :D

How much weight can it hold? This sounds interesting for the local lakes I fish.

Nice rig Joe, definately many advantages to a boat this size. Your going to be able to tuck into some real nice spots. Thats a perfect size for a lot of lakes, and nice thing is you can just run trolling on the lakes that don't allow gas power.

Congrats!

But the Nitro will be up for sale pretty soon I think.

Haha, we dont do full on review of any watercraft over 2k in cost. But we do have stories on upgrades and accessories.

The Nitro is a great boat, she's been real good to me. I think I'd just like to step up to a boat with a newer motor, maybe a optimax or even a 4stroke. Also would like all new electronics, but don't want to spend the money when the Nitro already has an existing setup.

best thing about the Nitro is the customized extended casting deck which allows 2 people to fish off the front, also I customized a removable tongue so it actually fits in the garage.

On the minus's I would have to see she needs more trolling power and becuase she is a little under 18ft it is not possible to fit a lot of rods in the rod lockers, mostly just tackle.

I'd like a 19 or 21ft boat, and more power basically, and the refinement and features of the Ranger's and Tritons are great. I think Skeeter also makes a fine boat.

oh yeah... that's another reason I'd like a new boat... 4-stroke engine! then I could launch at San Pablo Damn Reservoir again and revisit the waters where I caught my largest black bass to date... :D

I have a big bag of weenie worms reserved for that lake too!!! someday...

Thanks for all the replies! I do fish all the local lakes in the SF Bay Area. The posted capacity is 600lbs. The outboard motor I'm thinking about getting is the Tonhastu (9.8)H/P 4stroke model which weighs only 82lbs. I went to their web site and this motor pushed a ribbed inflatable to 24mph. The ripped boat was part fiberglass I'm not sure if it weighs more or less than the Bass Tender at 200lbs. I can tell you it is a very difficult to handle it took four of us to get it out of the store, so a trailer was the way to go. Does anyone have experince or knowledge with small outboard engines pushing this size boat. any info is good thanks Joe Man...
