Talon or Power Pole?

Post by USA-RET »

Any thoughts on choosing one over the other?

Talon looks to be a very easy install - full electric operation
Newer technology w/o a long track record of operational durability.

PP has hydraulic pump to mount and fluid as potential leakage.
Older technology w/ longer history. Everybody seems to have one :D

I have one of each on two different boats. They both preform well and do what they are supposed to do. If you are going to install it yourself get the Talon. If you are having it installed by somebody else get the one you can get the best deal on. If you park in a garage take measurements before hand and make sure it will fit in the garage with it up.

Maybe not a big deal depending on your situation, but my space is pretty tight back there so went with the Talon so I didn't have to make space for the hydraulics. But I agree either will do the job just fine.
