I am done answering questions of bias. Feel free to question our integrity, spew out your conspiracy theories, and claim we favor this product or that product. If you don't appreciate our work, go to another site and make your purchasing decisions based on their two paragraphs of painstaking work holding that product in their hand and reading over the press release while they use manufacturer supplied photographs to show off the product. Similar sites will use words phrases like "best ever" or "I've been doing this a long time and let me tell you...", etc., etc..

We get it from both ends. From readers like you who claim we're biased, to manufacturers who claim we're too critical, to others who question our methods and the value of the data we collect. We've heard the second hand stories of disgruntled employees who want to start their own site and take us out, have had manufacturers argue with us over articles, and get emails all the time questioning why we scored something the manner in which we did.

Those who have been around long enough to see this site grow and the diversity of product each of us have reviewed have a good sense of where each editor comes from and knows better than to think we let personal bias get in the way of a review. If you don't, then so be it. You won't be the first and nothing I can say will change your bias towards our reviews.

Thanks for responding and I can see that.
Like I said, never felt that way until this review. I have been a member for a long time and we have exchanged pm's several times. Just several things you didn't seem to break down like you normally do.
Still totally the best review site on the web.

Keep doing what you're doing. I am waiting for the line reviews  :D

I've by no means fished one, but I have held one in a store. I like the new grip material as I'm not a huge fan of cork. The only thing that has stopped me from purchasing one is the reel seat. I do not like Fuji's SK-2 reel seat. Not much trigger for my hand to stop from sliding down when palming a reel and too much material above the split where it screws down on to the reel foot. The good thing is St.Croix still makes blanks so I can get a custom built any way I want. Does that choice of reel seat bother anyone else?

That's why I ultimately returned mine. Hated the skeleton seat and hated the bare threads above the reel seat as well. Nothing about it was comfortable.

I have no issues with the reel seat and as I mentioned before a few threads on the front reel seat could be cut down but not a deal breaker for me since the blank is that good. The handle is actually pretty tacky in wet weather which is a plus since I love fishing in the rain. And I will say this again these Xtreme blanks are every bit as sensitive as the NRX I've fished in the past and better than the new GLX line I currently own. Will be adding a few more models by next spring for sure.
