Evergreen International's Super Stick : TKLC-71MHX

Introduction: It's been almost a year since our introduction to Evergreen International's latest top dog series, the Kaleido. Our first look into that series, TKLC-66MH Black Raven, became an instant favorite in our Search For One campaign and earned Ultimate Enthusiast honors. So intrigued were we with that stick that we've already queued up several others in this same series for a closer look. Next up? Another stick that qualifies in our Search For One, assuming your search is for an all purpose, heavy powered stick. Introducing Evergreen International's coveted TKLC-71MHX, The Super Stallion.

I guess there isn't anything else to be said. Good review as always :) You start diggin' those EG sticks, don't you, Cal :D?

So far, the Kaleido and Heracles series have proven to be everything that I expected out of Evergreen from the get go. The same cannot be said of the other Evergreen rods I've fished.

I concur to that - I've got a brand new, never used, pristine and absolutely perfect Dengeki and I think it will never see the water...

Precise review, Cal!!!

I fish my Super Stallion for swimjigs, tubes, jigs, spinnerbaits, texas rig/flipping, frogs.
Also I thought this might be relevant :) A 7lb4ozer pulled out from a Pennsylvanian bog lily pad last summer on 5' WEIGHTLESS wacky SENKO with TKLC-71MHX-- with the sensitivity and power, the Super Stallion handles weightless Senko and Dinger fantastically, too, even in tangled area against powerful fish.

Nice Jerry... one small point. A 5" Senko is hardly weightless... in fact, they weigh three eighths (3/8ths) of an ounce. Well within the range of most bass rods and reels for pitching and casting. More accurately, one should refer to the technique of fishing them without added weight as fishing an "un-weighted Senko". ;)

Thanks Cal. I meant "un-weighted wacky rigged Senko" :) By “ un-weighted” I meant to emphasize Super Stallion's sensitivity. With my Super Stallion, I can feel the fish in lily pads 25 yards away tap the Senko/Dinger when the rig is still falling, even on a slightly slack mono. Not many "big stick" can do this, isn't it? :)

The price of the rod describes the craftsmanship of the rod.
