Dear Cal,
For many year I have followed TackleTour reviews and learned a lot. My first Daiwa was an Advantage that I bought based on TT's review.
Following my admiration for your work, is with great respect that I will try to make a constructive critic.
Comparing the reviews of the F6-72X4 Orochi X4 and Evergreen International TKLC-71MHX Super Stallion, I found myself puzzled.

A closer look to the final tables leads me to think something must be wrong.
Performance wise I cannot state anything as I did not participate in the test but the evaluation done on Features and Design (Ergonomics) for both rods show something that would not be consistent.

Features: MB "The new X4 blanks are good. Components are solid" gets 8.5 and EG " top end components - I'd have preferred an eva or hypalon grip" gets 8.5 despite the MB being pointed in the Pluses and Minuses tables as "Stainless framed guides instead of titanium" !!!
Design (Ergonomics): MB gets 9 while the EG that weights less, has better balance and less torque, being more powerful gets 8.5 for being "conservative but elegant nonetheless"
Finally, Construction/Quality: Does the MG really compares in construction quality with the EG?
The pictures seem to show a much more well designed EG rod

when compared with the utilitarian MB design

, components and the lack of differentiation between rods in the line up. Something that is present in all EG Kaleido series.
I have seen so much criticism to the Jackall rod for being assembled outside Japan and none with the fact that MB blank are rolled in China just like Jackall.

My points are.
TT has put the expectations about their reviews in a very high level due to the outstanding work done. We all know to be very difficult to do reviews without putting a little bit of ourself. Nevertheless seems to me that consistency between reviewed material could be improved.
Second, I believe the rating done on the prices should be avoided as this ends up leveling all gear around the 8 mark making them all great for the price.
I believe one should decide if a item with a 6 is still a great buy for the price tag or you are willing to get nothing less then 8 grade gear even if you have to pay the triple.
This is just my opinion and shouldn't have more importance than that.
