Amazon 2011 Part 1 : Fishing the Headwaters

Image

Introduction: A year ago, in celebration of our 10th year bringing you the latest and greatest in fishing tackle news and reviews, we embarked on a journey many would refer to as a trip of a lifetime. Certainly the mere thought of travelling to the Amazon Rainforest let alone living on the river for a week is an experience most would find difficult to comprehend let alone knowing where to start in booking such an adventure. Man I love your amazon articles! I like that you threw choppers over the guide's recommendation for jigs. I'll no doubt do the same when i go in 2013.
Eagerly looking forward to the next installment!

Fantastic article - the Amazon has to be every true blood's deepest fantasy to fish. But the timing of these
articles when my lakes and rivers are freezing over is pure torture. Can't wait for the next installment!
Cal, try and quantify the feeling of having a 20+ pounder on, can you relate it to a similar species we've all
experienced?

It's not so much as having a huge peacock bass at the end of your line so much as it is the pure physical and mental abuse they put you through on the strike. Wait for installment #2 ... ;)

As always, Cal nails it.

All of you really owe it to yourself to make the trip at least once. Rob a bank, donate blood, deplete your kids' college funds :D , whatever it takes
