From Coast to Coast with the 13 Fishing Omen OBC73M
Introduction: Shopping for a new Bass rod sure has become interesting the last several years. Never before has there been such a broad spectrum of rods on the market, both from fresh companies as well as old familiars introducing new technologies and designs. In particular, the competition among affordable to mid priced offerings has never been so fierce. Many of these sticks are good, but for me none of these really hit a true home run with the overall packaging.
If I was outfitting for a tourney with sticks to abuse, these rods with BPS Carbonlites would be a very good way to get it done on the cheap without sacrificing much performance.
I am sold, I am going to order a few after the taxes come back. I might go ahead and try the Envy too. I would like them to produce a ML is both series for top water and finesse soft plastics. .

If you like the Omen you will love the Envy.
I inquired regarding the same thing. A light power Envy, and was told there is one in development for the Australian market, but will be available in the US also. I'd like to add a nice crisp and balanced light power casting rod 4-10 lb range to my arsenal.
I may be introduced as an Omen rather than an Envy.
Great review, W! Enjoyed handling this in November with you. Still trying to get comfortable with the checkered design under the reel seat...nice rod, but kind of a flashy rod for my tastes.
One of the good local tackle shops carries the 13 series of ice fishing rods. Apparently they are good, as well (I don't ice fish. ). Trying to get them interested in bringing in the real rods. Would be fun to handle some different actions and lengths.
