Cranking at a Higher Level, the New G.Loomis GLX

Question on the handle length - is the 13.5" measurement from the butt to the reel seat, or does it include the reel seat? It seems long for a 6'6" rod...and the review noted the handle was short.

That's a been a topic of discussion on the boards. When specifying a build with a custom builder, my experience has been specifying a length from the butt to the rear of the seat. The seat length varies with part number, manufacturer and even more when it gets trimmed down to fit a specific reel foot. I think only including the butt to rear of the seat gives a better idea of how the handle fits the forearm and gives a better idea of the fulcrum available aft of the reel. It was done that way in past reviews:

I've noticed the reel seat being included in lengths from retailers like TW...and I'm not sure it helps much.
Is a foregrip included in the handle length, or is that a separate component of the rod?
Just my 2 cents on a small topic.

We do not measure the
handle assembly
