Product Insight: Megabass's Blueprint of Success - The Vision OneTen

Image

Introduction: Jerkbait season is upon us and like the erratic action of that bait darting from one side to the next, up, down, and forward, keeping up with the latest offerings in this highly contested market segment can be daunting. It's difficult enough to decide between similar products from different manufacturers, but how about when a single manufacturer offers several different versions of seemingly the same bait?

That was a really informative review and very educational especially with regard to hook varieties. Personally I have had so little success with Vision 110s, fished totally stock but certainly not on 6 or 8lb line, that I sold all of mine. A great follow up would be to test the Rick Clunn clone with Lucky Strike hooks, Kausage hooks and the other brands used in this review. That would be VERY interesting. My own personal favorite rip bait is a Jackal Squad Minnow 95. I eventually trade out the light stock hooks (don't know what brand they are) for Owners, 1X for Bass, Pike, and Walleye and 2x for Salmon(Chinooks love Squad Minnows) and they still load the boat for me. Because all of the places I fish also have Pike or Musky I use 30lb. saltwater hard mono leader with the Jackals and LC's I throw. One wonders what a similar test of the Jackal 95 or 110 as well as other popular rippers like Slender Pointers, Smash Minnows, Pointers, X Raps, Rudras etc. would show. My bet is that the other rip baits are not as weight and line sensitive as the Visions but, hint hint, I would love to see a followup review using these other stickbaits (I would do them myself if I had a swimming pool, lol)

X2 Great article, since all the baits look similar, I never really made much of an effort to see what the differences were. The article and videos were very informative.
I would love to see it compared to the Luck e strikes as well.
I will say this, I don't ever change the stock hooks out because I noticed that it changed the actions of the baits, but there is no way in the world that I will throw a $26-28 bait on 6lb mono on the Delta, or anywhere else for that matter! [-(
