Today we take a closer look at a rod in their latest series with our review of the MX72H, a seven foot two inch, heavy powered stick that's part of the M1 lineup.

I can assure you they can deadlift a lot more, I've lifted 8kg (17.6lb) Barramundi (Asian Sea Perch) with the lightest of the M1s, the MX-692ML and have set hooks as hard as I could with 30lb PE + 40lb FC leader with no probs. drove a 5/0H wide gap through top palates of 90cm fish with it. Its durable enough that I use them as swim rods, i.e. swimming to coral structures. Luckily for me, none of the M1s I've seen had the gap pointed out.

Just thought I'd mention that the rod weight was listed as 4 oz. at the beginning of the article, but 5.3 oz. in the Lab Results/RoDWrack section. Figured one of the 2 had to me a typo..FYI

excellent review and writeup. however, can someone...anyone...explain the rationale for the location of the hook keeper? if there was just one good reason, i'd sure like to hear it. i love my MX72H but i hate, hate, hate the placement of the hook keeper.

btw, mine weighs 4.1 ounces.
