Introduction: Several years in the teasing, we awaited the subject of today's review from Abu Garcia for quite some time. Year after year at ICAST, they showed us glimpses of the reel and promised "next year". Finally this past year, the announcement was made and now the classic, recreated Morrum is finally available in North America. Here now is our review of one of Abu Garcia's most iconic reels.

Nice review, I purchased and ultimately returned a JDM 1600 Mag version. The palming was excellent but the thumb bar was very loose and felt as if it would eventually fall off after some use. The clutch wouldn't re engage sometimes by just turning the handle and the retrieve felt rough and geary. Also the mag adjustment was loose feeling. Not what I expected for a top of the line reel. I never fished it because I emailed the seller about these issues and planned on sending it back for an exchange. They contacted Abu and was told all these issues were normal? And that the geariness would smooth out over time. Needless to say I wasn't impressed with Swedish engineering. It was a quite a looker though :D and 28lb of drag is insane for a reel this small.
