A Prop Bait Not for Spying but Topwater! The X-Plose Topwater by Megabass

Introduction: Topwater fishing is considered by many, the most exciting way to catch a fish of any species. It is certainly one of my favorite ways to catch a fish. The myriad of different baits to help you accomplish this seemingly straight forward goal can be overwhelming. Do you choose a popper, walker, buzzer, crawler, waker, deadstick bait or combination thereof? Megabass has a product to add even more confusion to the mix. It's a bait that resembles the recent sub surface double prop trend with the ability to behave like the much larger wood chopper. Here's our look at Megabass's X-Plose topwater bait.

One of my favorite topwater baits from back in the day was the Smithwick Devil's Horse, Fire Coach Dog pattern. It's been a lotta years since then. The X-Plose reminds me of that bait, some of the same "Cons" and all. I may have to pick up one or two. Just for old time's sake.

How does it cause line twist? Unless the bait itself is spinning I can't see how the presence of propellers would make the line twist.

I found it interesting you mention the line will foul on the prop or head hook.
I have multiples of every single spybait make and model made up until last year
And the megabass flat out is a joke. more than 3/4s of the casts foul no matter what line/ leader combination. Rod action or how you allow it to fall.

Sad that they couldn't remedy this for this bait.

Combined with hooks that don't equal same quality as other high end japanese baits.

I'm starting to wonder about the company.
