Introduction: Missile Baits has really stormed onto the scene over the last couple of years with the popularity of their D-Bomb, Missile Craw, Drop Craw among other baits. Inconspicuously missing from their arsenal however, has been that do-nothing soft plastic stick bait so pervasive in other brands. That changed this past year at ICAST when Missile Jigs introduced their interpretation of this bait, The 48. Let's see how this bait stacks up.

I really like this worm and like you I have found it to be a great jig trailer.. not something i typically do but nonetheless effective
it does shiver shake and quiver but most of all it does it while being durable. The new daiwa / yamamoto offerings aren't so i have heard.. I have a pack just havent fished them yet although they are sorta on the steep side. but the 48 won't break the bank just wished they had more color options..

Bumping this one back up.

I'm interested in this bait...thinking weightless T-rigged. Is this worm heavy enough to cast, in this manner, with conventional casting gear?

It's been over 2 years dude, I can't remember  ... my initial reaction is yes, of course, but it also depends on what you consider "conventional" casting gear. Easiest way to find out to just buy a pack. ;)

   Understood...just wanted to see if board members would chime in.

I meant non-finesse stuff, though I know that's subjective...basically somewhere in the ballpark of an 893/Metanium combo.

I definitely plan on it, but our lakes are still frozen. Summer dreaming here. 8-)

That combo should handle The 48 unweighted no problem. I feel for ya with the frozen water :(

Sweet! Thanks buddy.

This has been an odd Winter here...very warm for these parts. There really hasn't been safe ice the vast majority of the season. There's not enough ice to walk on, but the lakes are still frozen over and getting a boat out is not possible.

I've only been out once, and am starting to get a little cranky. Lol.
