Cal, what's that connection knot you're using? Guessing from what I can see in the picture, I'd say it was a uni-to-uni.
How about an article on connection knots? I realize it's a lot of work, but it would certainly be helpful to your readers.

I am now using an FG knot... I originally used the Albright special, but had difficulty tying it consistently with all weights of line... so then went to the simpler, Uni to Uni but did not like the size of that knot... so then learned the FG knot using the Daichi Knot Assist Tool 2.0 and my own finishing knot as explained in the Power Pro Hollow Ace article.

These days, I’m mostly using hollow braid, but in the few situations where I am not, it’s the FG knot to connect standard braid to mono or fluoro leaders.

I guessed you were using the Uni to Uni because of the size of the knot, but I was forgetting that you were using 50# test braid. For that size braid, I wouldn't knock your results with the FG knot. Good job!
